Brighter Futures are requesting we all dress up very smart for an evening to help raise vital funds for the dedicated radiotherapy unit planned for GWH. This event replaces the sports auction dinner planned for last september.
Thanks to very generous supporters of the hospital we have donated over 20 different sporting experiences and prizes, ranging from clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, brand new mountain bikes, hotel stays, dinner, even a signed football from the Chelsea FC Foundation to help make this a truly glamorous event .
The website which has helped to win all of these fantastic prizes has reached its target of 100,00 visits and has been monumental in the fundraising undertaken for both cycling from Rome and also keeping you up to date with challenges and cycling events in Wiltshire and beyond. Read more
Thanks to Barbury Shooting School and The Lamb Inn Marlborough they have donated 2 x 1 hour shooting lessons followed by a marvellous lunch for 2 for the value of £50.00. This is another wonderful prize to be added to the many excellent prizes all donated to help raise funds for the Great Western Hospital. Another big thanks and show of support to help raise funds. Its currently advertised as postponed as many of you may have noticed. The Active Swindon Challenge was a free competition for individuals, teams and families running from May to the end of August.The challenge was jointly organised and promoted by supporters Swindon Travel Choices and Sustrans as a way of encouraging people to get out their cars and enjoy Swindon on foot, on two wheels and by bus or train. Thanks to everyone for the support shown for the Rome to GWH Cycle Challenge. A cheque was presented to Jennifer Green the fundraising manager of Brighter Futures at Great Western Hospital on 26th August 2014. This figure is what has been raised at fundraising events and public sponsorships over the last 12 months. With gift aid, the figure donated for the Osprey Day Therapy centre should be near £1700.
